FAQs

Good questions

simple answers.

Everything you need to know before your appointment, and how to look after your locs afterwards.

What are micro locs?

Micro locs are very small, uniform locs started on your natural hair. They're versatile enough to style like loose hair (buns, ponytails, curls) while giving you the low-maintenance benefits of locs.

How do I book?

Message us on WhatsApp. Tap any “Book” button on this site and send us a clear photo of your hair, your desired loc size and your preferred booking date. We'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Why do you need a photo of my hair?

A clear photo lets us see your hair's length, density and condition, so we can advise on loc size and give you an accurate time and price before your appointment.

How often should I get my locs retightened?

Most clients come in every 4–6 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows and how neat you like your roots. We'll recommend a schedule for you at your appointment.

How should I arrive for my appointment?

Please arrive with clean, detangled hair that's free of heavy products, unless we've agreed otherwise. If anything changes, let us know as early as possible on WhatsApp.

How do I look after my new locs?

New locs need a little extra care for the first six months: wash them in mini braids and keep them moisturised. See our full care guide below.

Care Guide

Healthy locs Happy you

Moisture

2–3× a week

Use a good moisturising hair spray to keep your locs hydrated and prevent excessive dryness.

Oil

2–3× a week

Use a lightweight, hair- and scalp-friendly oil or oil blend. The brand matters less than choosing a good-quality oil with nourishing ingredients.

Scalp massage

Gently massage your scalp when oiling or washing. It stimulates the scalp, distributes products and feels relaxing.

Wash regularly

Use a gentle shampoo to keep your scalp and locs clean. After washing, apply your oil and moisturising spray, then massage your scalp.

New locs

Up to 6 months

Wash new locs while they're in mini braids to help prevent them from loosening.

Air-dry in mini braids

Let your locs air-dry in mini braids. It minimises shrinkage and can give your locs a beautiful curl when you take the braids out.

Satin or silk at night

Sleep with a satin or silk headwrap or pillowcase to reduce friction, dryness, frizz and breakage.

Spray water

Daily

Spray your hair with water every day. You can add rosemary, cloves or other ingredients you enjoy.
